Today is the release of Eclipse!!!

Forks or Bust: Day 29

Today we spent the entire day shopping in Forks. It was a blast but I think we're going to have to rent a trailer to get all our stuff back home.

We started with an early breakfast at Forks Coffee Shop

We ordered one of everything on their breakfast menu and
then passed them around so we could taste everything. Yum!




Forks Open Air Market
The Forks Open Aire Market is a non-profit organization made up of Forks community volunteers, local artisans, hobbyists, Twilight-inspired merchandise venders, organic farmers, photographers, jewelry artists, collectors, crafters, and more who vend their wares next to the Forks Timber Museum every Saturday from mid-May to mid-October. We spent three hours there and got soooo much stuff!

Then it was time for lunch. We went Sully's Burgers. . .

Chinook Pharmacy & Variety
You know it's a small town when they identify their store as the one "at the stoplight."
Chinook's features a Twilight Lane in their store with a huge variety of T-Shirts, candles, books, postcards, book marks, sweat shirts, souvenirs, and jewelry.




Native to Twilight

Located on Main Street, this shop carries items related to Twilight, Native American Culture, Forks and La Push. They have themed clothing, handmade and local items. Every craft is authentic—including hand-carved cedar canoe paddles by McCarty (Makah Tribe), bent wood cedar boxes by master carver Smith (Quileute and Makah), traditional grass and cedar baskets by Morganroth (Quileute), woven/beaded barettes by Leitka (Hoh River Tribe), native screenprint designs by Greene (Makah Tribe), and spectacular cedar masks by Taylor (Tulalip) and Cox (Makah Tribe).

Shopping really works up the appetite. We went to The Lodge for dinner.
It's connected to a family-friendly Twilight Lounge.
We stayed in the lounge until the swelling in our ankles went down.

This shop has amazing fan-gear. Maybe I should try to sell my perfume here...?

Forks or Bust: Day 28

Another day in the town of Forks.

Today we visited Forks High School.
It's a good thing we came when we did.
They're tearing it down and building a new one.

They had a big party and invited all the alumni to attend.



The Cullens and Hales were there.



As were some more recent graduates.


Then we went to the hospital where Carlisle works.

Kristen and Rebecca are pointing out Carlisle's designated parking spot.



Inside the hospital, we find the man himself.

Heather pretended to be hurt so he would come talk to us,
but when all 11 of us tried to crowd into the exam room, he called our bluff.


Here he is telling Rosalie and Edward how lame we are.

But we don't care.


Then we went to the Swan home.
Kandis and Jessica got a photo by the sign.



This is a closer shot.

No one was home so we couldn't get pics inside.
But we did go into the forest by Bella's house.


Edward was there playing monkey boy.


No, I'm not holding the camera sideways.
Edward is just showing off.


Last stop of the day was Newton's.
We stocked up on groceries and bought some stuff for blisters.
We've been hiking a lot.

Today, being Sunday and a day of rest,
we took a picnic up to Edward and Bella's meadow after church.

It was just a short hike. We ate sandwiches.
Then we sat and talked, read, napped.

It was dusk as we were leaving.

I took one last look back and got this shot.

Forks or Bust: Day 26

Saturday we started our tour of the City of Forks.

We started at the city limits.

Then hit the Visitor Center/Chamber of Commerce.

Karlene & Suan by Bella's truck.
(Edward gave her vanity plates for Christmas.)

They don't like people touring City Hall and the Police Dept.
so we just took a pic of the sign.

Nichole and Sandra got a pic by Charlie's police cruiser.

Then we went to the Cullen house.

It looks bigger in the movies. Weird.

The Cullen mailbox. It was empty.
Kandis checked.

Tristi and Sarah went up to the porch and
found this sign saying they were gone.
I think they do that to scare away tourists.

But when the Cullen's realized it was us, they invited us in.

They were so pleased to meet us.
Esme whipped up a seven course meal for us in no time flat.
We spent a lovely evening visiting with this charming family.
